Reflection

We were reading Job 1-3 in staff meeting yesterday and Job 1:22 really jumped out at me. Job's just lost his livelihood (all his oxen, donkeys, sheep and camels), most of his servants, and all of his children. His life is in ruins and the Bible tells us:

"In all this, Job did not sin by charging God with wrongdoing."

Wow. What a rebuke. My suffering is nothing compared to Job's, yet I too often indulge in blaming God; charging him with wrongdoing! But my life is not my own anymore, it's God's. My life is 'hid with Christ'. So why should I feel God should be following my desires, my version of how my life 'should' be?

I think I really need to work on not blaming God for my suffering and saying "your will be done" more.
